From John Green's most superb book, The Fault In Our Stars. If you haven't read it, I encourage you to do so. It will make you a much happier person.
Hey Ya'll! (That's what they say down here in lovely Tennessee, and as a northerner, I find it extremely endearing!) So second blog anyone? I'm super excited and hope you are too!
If you didn't notice from my choice of quote, we love The Fault In Our Stars. Huge fans. Fan-girls. We even have a blog named after a concept discussed within its pages! Because of these facts, I thought it would be appropriate for the second day blog to give homage to this lovely work of literature.
Review: Hazel is dying, but it's pretty much old news to her. She has pretty much been dying her whole teenage career, thyroid cancer with metastasis in your lungs will do that to you. One thing Hazel Grace can say about dying though is that it gives you a unique perspective. Armed with An Imperial Affliction, Hazel's beloved novel of existential truths, she is prepared to watch America's Next Top Model and go to support group when her mother makes her.
What is new is Augustus Waters. (Side note: Augustus Waters should be its own adjective, like, "I'd Augustus Waters that.") They share witty banter and swap books, which would totally win me over anytime. Hazel shares An Imperial Affliction and a bond is formed. They fly to Amsterdam. AMSTERDAM. I couldn't imagine anything else you could want in a book. There is also a band mentioned throughout called The Hectic Glow. If they were actually a band, I would totally leave you with their songs but, alas, we will be forever left wanting. Instead, I'll leave you with Amsterdam by Imagine Dragons. A solid song that ties in well with my blog! Hope you enjoy! Have a lovely day!
